Photo import

Photo import, under Patients in the menu on Start. Offered to anyone who holds clinics at the organisation you are signed in to.

Files a folder of your own clinical photographs onto the consultations and operations they were taken in, by the time each was taken. Choose folder reads every photograph and video in it on your own computer; only when each was taken and a fingerprint of its content leave it. Fedelsoft then shows four numbers: how many will file themselves, how many are left for you to place, how many carry no time at all, and how many were imported before. File sends them.

A set of photographs taken within a few minutes of each other files itself only when the whole set falls inside one consultation of yours that is not marked as missed or cancelled, well clear of its start and end, with no other appointment of yours at the same time, and nothing recorded about the patient's arrival or departure that disagrees. Anything else is kept for you under To place, as a set with the time it was taken. Each set offers the consultations either side of it, and the one it falls in, as one press each; Find looks for any patient instead, and Remove deletes a set that is not clinical. Every photograph in a set has a tick in its corner: tick some and the press acts on those alone, leaving the rest in the set to be placed next, which is how a set with no capture time, often several patients' photographs together, is shared out one patient at a time. With nothing ticked, a press takes the whole set.

Operations count too. A photograph taken during one of your operating lists, or within an hour either side of it for marking beforehand or a specimen afterwards, files itself to your operation on that list. Where the list held more than one of your operations, it waits under To place with each of them offered, unless the theatre times recorded for them tell them apart.

Filed lists where your recent imports went, one line per appointment with the time and how many photographs it received, including any you placed afterwards. The patient's name opens that appointment in a new tab, so you can check each one and come back to the list.

Running it again on the same folder sends only what did not arrive, so a lost connection costs nothing: choose the folder again. A photograph is never imported twice.

In Chrome or Edge, once the photographs are in, Set aside appears with the number Fedelsoft now holds from that folder. Pressing it asks the browser's permission to change the folder, then moves those photographs into a folder inside it called Imported to Fedelsoft - delete, which you delete yourself when you are ready. Only photographs Fedelsoft has confirmed it holds are moved, including ones imported on an earlier run; anything still to send, or a set you removed under To place, stays where it was. Safari cannot move files on your computer, so after importing in Safari, choose the same folder in Chrome or Edge: everything shows as already imported, and Set aside clears them.

Safari is the browser to use for it. It reads iPhone photographs itself, so each one can be seen in Fedelsoft as soon as it is filed; in any other browser the page says so.

A Director or IT Support holder sets, under Matching, how far inside a consultation a set must be, how close together photographs must be to count as one set, and how far either side of an operating list a photograph still belongs to it.
