A medicine's details
Under Medications on an appointment, press the name of the medicine you have picked.
Each medicine in the formulary has a page of its own. At the top is its name, with Red flag where it carries one, its schedule, and its alternative names. Below are its details: the name and alternative names, the red flag, the schedule, the usual dose, unit, route, frequency and duration that are filled in when the medicine is picked on an appointment, the dispensing notes a label prints, and the dosage, special and storage instructions.
A Prescriber or a holder of Reference Data can change any of them. Each field is saved the moment you leave it, and the line under the form says Saving, Saved or what went wrong. The name and alternative names are tidied the way the list keeps them, with the first letter of each word in capitals. A name that another medicine already has is refused, and a medicine cannot be left without a name. The changes are written on the log as one line for the sitting.
Everyone else sees the same details and cannot change them. Cautionary and advisory labels, where the medicine has any, are listed beneath for everyone to read.
A change shows at once wherever the medicine is picked: the appointment's search, the patient record's medicine picker, prescriptions and the label maker all read the same list.
