Help / Documents, equipment and stock

Attachments

Attachments, under Documents in the menu on Start, and the folder on a record.

The organisation's folders of files, and the files themselves: photographs, video and documents, kept safely and opened from the record they belong to.

A folder opens as a page of its own, from Files on the list, from the folder on an expense, a piece of equipment or an admission entry, and from the folder's buttons in the older screens. It shows the photographs as small pictures and every file by name; pressing one opens it. Add chooses files from your computer, and Phone shows a code to scan with the phone's camera, so photographs can be sent straight from the phone into the folder. Files go into Fedelsoft's own storage, and appear on the patient, and on the appointment or operation the folder belongs to, as well.

While a file is going up, a card at the bottom right of the screen shows its name, a bar and how much has been sent. If the connection drops, Fedelsoft tries again by itself a few times. If it still cannot carry on, the card says where it stopped and offers Retry, which carries on from that point without sending the earlier part again, and Cancel, which gives the upload up. A file that is already going up from the page cannot be started a second time, and the browser warns before you close the page while one is on its way.

A folder's files that are still kept in the organisation's own Dropbox are listed in the folder with all the others and open in the page the same way. On the lists, a folder with files still in Dropbox shows Dropbox, with how many when that is known, as in Dropbox (2), beside Files. Dropbox goes from the lists once every file of the folder has been copied here and checked.

Pressing a photograph, in a folder or among an appointment or operation's photographs, opens it large over the page rather than in a new tab. Previous and Next, or the left and right arrow keys, move through the photographs on that page, and Close or Escape returns you to where you were. New tab opens the photograph on its own, for a closer look: an iPhone photograph is opened there at its full size, and if it cannot be made at full size Fedelsoft opens the slightly smaller copy instead. A photograph still kept in Dropbox opens there as large as Dropbox will show it, with Original beside its name in the folder. Videos and documents still open in a tab of their own.

A file opens in the page rather than being saved to your computer. Photographs taken on an iPhone are in a format some browsers cannot draw, so Fedelsoft keeps a copy of each in a format every browser can, and that copy is what you see and what the small picture on the record comes from. The photograph itself is never altered and is still the one on the record.

On an attachment row, Open goes to the file Fedelsoft holds once that record's files have been brought over and checked against the originals. Until then it goes to the storage link the record has always carried. That link keeps working for anyone who has it, without signing in, which is why it stops being offered once there is a copy here to open instead.
