Choosing the next day on a lead
Next contact, on a lead's Follow-up card.
Next is a day, not a time. Pick it in Next contact and it saves as soon as you leave the box; there is no Save button. Clear the box to take the day away.
Setting it moves the lead's open shared to-do to that day, and the same people stay on it. If the lead has no open to-do, one is raised for the people a new lead of the organisation goes to. Set it again and the to-do moves again. It is postponed until that day, so it stays off their lists until then and appears on the day itself.
From the start of that working day, the lead shows to those people as a quiet notice at the bottom right of every page: the person's name, Due today, and Open and Hide. A day that falls on a weekend or a bank holiday shows on the next working day. The notice is different from the new-lead pop-up on purpose. It has no countdown, no Hot, Warm or Cool and no escalation, because it only needs doing sometime that day.
It is done when a message is sent from the lead, a call is logged, the lead is booked or closed, or a new Next is set. Opening WhatsApp or your own mail is not enough. When it is done the notice goes, and a to-do raised for it is completed for everybody on it.
If the working day ends and it has still not been done, the people the organisation has named are told on Start the next working morning. Nothing further is sent, and it never joins the new-lead escalation.
After any contact, Next moves on by itself: a message sent from the lead, a call logged or an invitation sent puts it at the moment of the next nurture message where nurture is on, otherwise two days later, and the lead rests under Waiting on Leads until then, off the Open list. If nothing has happened by that moment it comes back to Open on its own; if they write back, it comes back at once. A day moved on by itself raises no to-do and tells nobody: coming back onto the list is the reminder. A day you chose yourself that is further off is kept. A call or message before the day you chose does not end it. Next contact takes only a day from today on, and saves once the date is complete.
On Leads, the Next column shows the day as Today, Tomorrow, the date, or Overdue.
